The 47th President’s Cup National High School Baseball Championship tournament ended this Monday with Gongju High School defeating Bugil High School 4-3 to win the title in 36 years.  It was also their first national tournament trophy since 1992.  Park Chan-ho was at the game to cheer for and congratulate his alma mater, where he pitched for during the early 90s.

Bugil High School had to play the finals without their star pitcher, Yu Hui-woon (first round pick of the expansion team, the KT Wiz), as he had to join the National Team for the IBAF AAA (18U) Baseball World Cup in Taiwan.  Lee Jae-rim, who pitched the ninth to close down the game for Gongju High School, was drafted by the Seoul Nexen Heroes (106th overall) just hours before the game.

Watching it online, it seemed like both schools also had a cheer battle.  The two school brought most of their students to the game to root for their players.

So, below is the complete result of the tournament and award winners.
