On this day…
in 1993, Kim Won-hyeong (김원형) of the Ssangbangwool (or simply just “SBW”) Raiders pitched a no-hitter against the OB Bears (now the Seoul Doosan Bears). The Raiders won the game 3-0.
This was the seventh no-hitter in Korea Baseball Championship history, the first since 1990. Futhermore, Kim became the youngest player to throw a no-hitter in the top professional league (20 years, 9 months, and 25 days).
A walk in the 6th inning to Kim Min-ho (김민호) was the only blemish of his outing.
