Korea Celebrates Traditional New Year

Baseball news remained relatively dormant earlier this week as Korea celebrated Seol (pronounced “Sull”), which is Korea’s way of calling the traditional New Year’s Day shared by several cultures in the Far East.  Most of the KBO League players had to celebrate overseas in their clubhouse as they already left home in mid-January for the first phase of Spring Training.  Meanwhile, players such as Pittsburgh Pirates infielder, Kang Jung-ho (강정호), greeted his fans wearing hanbok (한복, traditional Korean outfit).
