“Baseball in Korea” is a page dedicated to provide information on and discuss about Korean baseball in general. Namely, amateur and professional baseball, baseball culture (experience), current baseball issues, history, baseball books and media in Korea are the main subjects that will be focused on this page.
Korean players have earned the opportunity to cross the Pacific as early as the late-1960s. It was not until, however, the emergence of Park Chan-ho, and the Korean Baseball Organization’s (KBO) decision to allow foreign players in their league, that helped bring the eyes of the world to the Republic of Korea.
Yet, until this day, there is very little known due to the cultural differences, language barrier, and Korea itself being a lesser known country than its surrounding neighbors.
It is my sincere hope that you would gain a Korean perspective of this great game, and actively open up and participate in discussions.
